Birds will be Flach’s sixth book, following Equus (2008), Dogs Gods (2010, published in the USA as Dogs), More than Human (2012), Endangered (2017), and Who Am I? (2019). It is due for publication in 2020.
His photographs are showcased in books, exhibitions, and galleries around the world.
Tim Flach is a photographer who is best known for his stylized portraits of animals, and for the originality that he brings to capturing animal behavior and characteristics. His work is driven by a desire to better communicate stories of the natural world and explore questions of art and science.
Flach has received commissions by leading editorial and commercial clients, and has garnered multiple awards, including three Cannes Lions. He has won the International Photography Award’s Professional Photographer of the Year for fine art. He is an Honorary Fellow of the Royal Photographic Society, and was awarded an Honorary Doctorate from Norwich University of the Arts in 2013.
